Unemployed women learn to be canteen cooks in London
Unemployed women learn to be canteen cooks in London. As it is expected that there will soon be a considerable demand for cooks in institutions and canteens, The Central Committee on Womens Training and Employment has opened two London centres where unemployed women between the ages of 18 and 40 may train. The women, must have lost their employment owing to the war, will undergo a six weeks course during which they will specially trained in catering and the production of cheap and nourishing meals under wartime conditions for large numbers. Women students gather around a table for instruction at the training centre in Grosvenor Road.
