With battleships of the American Asiatic fleet in gala dream for the occasion, the giant United States seaplane China Clipper glided onto the water in Manilla Harbour after having completed the first trans Pacific air mail flight. The journey from San Fancisco Bay, California, to the Philippines, took a week.
Photo shows, the China Clipper descending onto the water on arrival at Manilla. The shore can be seen packed with people to welcome her.
In the background, left to right are the University Apartments building, Bayview Hotel, Elke CLub and the Army and Navy Club.
