John Surtees ' MV machine is clear of the ground as he roars over Ballaugh Bridge during the Junior International TT ( Tourist Trophy ) in the Isle of Man, Britain. Surtees, 24, from Catford, London, led from the start and won at an average speed of 93.97 miles per hour.

For the first time, the Royal Maundy Service was held at Windsor, Berks, in the St George's Chapel. Each carrying a bouquet of flowers, members of the Royal Family, from front to back, Queen Elizabeth, Princess Anne, Queen Mother and Princess Margaret, walk with the Rev Bishop Eric Hamilton, the Dean, after the Royal Maundy Service. The Queen distributed the Maundy money.

Accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, H.M The Queen attended the conerts given in their honour by the High Commisioners for Australia and New Zealand at the Royal Festival Hall last evening. Many Australian and New Zealand artistes took part in the concert which has been designed as a musical tribute to the Queen and the Duke before they leave on their tour of Australia and New Zealand.
