German workmen unload food from a British Royal Air Force flying boat, one of ten maintaining a thrice-daily service from Hamburg and landing on the Wannsee here. The cargo is unloaded on to bridge-building pontoons floated into position by the Royal Engineers, and then trans-shipped to barges. Russia has protested against the landings by the flying-boats, contending that Berlin waterways are under Soviet control. - 8th July 1948
