Votes for Women - policeman with a suffragette arrested in Hyde Park about 1912
Votes for Women - policeman with a suffragette arrested in Hyde Park in London about 1912 ie early on in the movement. The suffragette herself seems remarkably calm in the face of the two arresting officers, just sitting in a relaxed fashion. She does not look like one of the aristocracy, more like one of the thousands of ordinary working women who fought to get the vote in the face of political and social hostility
