London
REFORM CLUB, on the south side of Pall Mall, between the Travellers Club and the Canton Club, was founded by the Liberal members of the two Houses of Parliament, about the time the Reform Bill was canvassed and carried, 1830- 32. The Club consists of 1000 members, exclusive of members of either House of Parliament Entrance fee, 25 guineas; annual subscription for the first five years of election, 101. l0s., subsequently, 81. 8s. The house was built from the designs of Charles Barry, R. A. The exterior is greatly admired, though the windows, it is urged are too small. The interior, especially the large square hall covered with glass, occupying the centre of the building, is very imposing. The cooking establishment of the Club is under the superintendence of the celebrated M. Soyer, and in brilliancy of cuisine yields to none in Britain

George Cruikshank (27 September 1792 - 1 February 1878), son of the Scottish painter and caricaturist Isaac Cruikshank, was a caricaturist and book illustrator. His 60-year career began with political prints that attacked the royal family and leading politicians (in 1820 he received a royal bribe of ?100 for a pledge "not to caricature His Majesty (George III of the United Kingdom) in any immoral situation.") He went on to create social caricatures of British life for popular publications such as The Comic Almanack (1835-1853) and Omnibus (1842). Later in his career, his book illustrations for Charles Dickens and many other authors reached an international audience.

Blessing the plough at Chichester Cathedral.
The ancient ceremony of blessing the plough took place yesterday (Plough Sunday) at Chichester Cathedral when a plough was drawn in procession from the County Hall to the Cathedral. The plough was drawn by young farmers in knee length white coats with a ploughman at the stilts. In the Cathedral the plough was placed in front of the choir screen and the Bishop, Dr bell, preached a sermon. Farmers, workers and W L A members grouped themselves round the plough and the ploughman and the WLA representative invoked the Bishop's blessing.
Photo shows, the Bishop of Chichester welcoming the plough on its arrival at the Cathedral.
