Floods, caused by the recent bad weather, endangered the water supplies thousands of the East
Floods, caused by the recent bad weather, endangered the water supplies thousands of the East and North London people when they found that their taps were either dry or delivering muddy water, today. The crisis came when 50, 000, 000 gallons of water was ruined when the River Lea burst its banks and flooded the filter beds at Lea Bridge Road pumping station. Emergency water supplies were immediately sent out on lorries by the Metropolitan water board and local councils.
