Two 13 year old schoolchildren, Joan Vera Strong and Eric George Laker, opened the council offices and council chamber of the Urban District Council at the Manor House, Littlehampton, Sussex. An address by the chairman, Colonel CCR Murphy, was followed by addresses by the children.
