The figure of the ruler facing the North is being painted by Mr Joseph Linden Smith, the archaeological artist. To the left is seen the initial series, 9, 16, 10, 0, 0, recording the year 501 AD.
To the extreme left are Thomas Gann and Dr Sylvanus Morley, of the Carnegie Institution of Washington.
On the opposite side of the Stelae is a Great Cycle glyph, or time marker of 8, 000 years.
