Captain As Wilcockson, who will pilot the giant Empire flying boat Caledonia on her first experimental transatlantic flight to Newfoundland and New York, is travelling to the Shannon base in the Irish Free State from which the flight will commence.
The flying boat is expected to leave within the next few days.
