In heavy rain this afternoon, Sunday, 1500 Londoners converged on Kensington high
In heavy rain this afternoon, Sunday, 1500 Londoners converged on Kensington high Street in a well-planned operation to take over block of flats in Duchess of Bedford walk, West Kensington. The block housed refugees from Gibraltar during the war and was later asked of the local building trade school. After being repaired and redecorated by the Ministry of works, the block was to be handed back to the owners and luxury flats to be let out at a minimum rent of 10 guineas a week.
