Monk makes Coronation monks. Brother Thomas inspecting completed coronation mugs at Prinknash abbey, Painswick, Gloucestershire, where the monks are hard at work in their own potteries on the production of these and other coronation souvenirs. The monks use clay dug from the Abbey ground and work to original designs. Each mug - finished in green, blue or cream base - is decorated with the Royal Standard and a cameo head of the Queen, with the monogram ER, on the reverse. A lion rampant forms the handle.
