Mrs Franklin Crosbie Gowen of the American Consulate General in London, the wife of Consul Gowen of Philadelphia was presented at the first royal court of the season at Buckingham Palace. Mrs Gowen wore a pink satin dress embroidered with pearls, an embroidered train, a collar of pearls and a diamond brooch. She carried an ostrich fan.
