Girl competitors in RAC, 1, 000 miles rally.
Start from Ace of Spades.
Over 200 competitors, including 26 women, driving all makes of cars, are taking part in the RAC. Rally over a 1, 000 mile route to Hastings, Sussex. One party started from the Ace of Spades roadhouse on the Great West Road near London and five others from different towns in the provinces.
The drivers, who will spend 40 hours on the road, must average a speed of 24 miles an hour.
