Flight Lieutenant Staniland, the high speed pilot, is practising at Brooklands track for the fastest race of the season - the eighth international 500 miles race - which takes place on Saturday (September 19). Only cars known to be capable of a lap of 100 miles an hour have been accepted by the organisers, the British Racing Drivers Club.
