A speed trial held at Elstree, near Watford, on Easter Monday under the auspices of the Vintage Sports Car Club attracted entries from nine other clubs, and for the first time since 1939, motor racing enthusiasts saw races in which Atlas, Maseratis, Bugattis and E.R.A.s took part. Shortage of petrol and tyres restricted the course to one of 440 yards and cars started in pairs and the timed separately.
