A series of new coins the first bearing the head of King George VI, of being struck at the Royal Mint, London, Mr George Kruger is responsible for all the silver in the new series, the obverses in which all bear the Kings effigy designed by Mr T H Paget.
One of the novelties in the designs of the new coins is the 12 sided threepenny bit, which is in an alloy of nickel not hithero used currency in this country.
Photo shows, the new coins. The top one shows the head of the King and the other show the reverse side. The kinds of five shillings, two shillings and sixpence, two shillings, one showing, sixpence, threepence, Scott shilling, the new threepenny piece, Penny, Halfpenny and farthing.
