The Social Service Exhibition, showing how unemployed men in the depressed areas have occupied the time, has opened at the Royal horticultural Hall, Westminster.
Examples of all kinds of handicrafts are on view, the stands being exact reproductions of the shops in which the exhibits were made-most of them converted derelict chapels or warehouses.
The exhibition has been organised by the Civil Service Social Service Associations, who have established centres where the men can buy materials.
