Full agreement has been reached between the British Legion and the Australian Returning Soldiers League on a long-term joint migration scheme.
Under the scheme, more than 1000 sub-branches of the Australian body will find jobs and accommodation for British ex-Servicemen, who will then be nominated by Legion Branches.
The first group of British ex-servicemen with their families, left Euston this morning for Liverpool for their journey to Australia.
Photo shows Four year old twins amongst the migrants, 4-year old Caroline and Anne Sutling, of Romford, Essex wave goodbye as they leave with their parents on the RSL Somersetshire boat-train.
