Rebel headquarters, also under siege. at the far end of O Connel street flows the Liffey, up which the British sailed a gunboat to bombard the rebels. as a fiftieth annerversary touch....somebody demolished Nelsons Pillar, the O Connell street landmark frtom which this picture was taken in 1916.
