While the father of Mary Maguire, the film actress, is serving as bat man with BEF in France

While the father of Mary Maguire, the film actress, is serving as bat man with BEF in France, her mother, Mrs Michael Maguire, and for other daughters are living in a maisonnette in Devonshire Place, and following a variety of careers. Pat, aged 22, is a singer, Joanne aged 19, is an actress, Carmel, aged 17 is an artist and designs the family's dresses, and Lupe, aged 16 is a dancer. Mary Maguire, who lives with her husband captain Robert Gordon-Canning, in Mayfair, has just gone into a nursing home for a minor operation. Each does something different. Lupe (left) dances watched by Pat, the singer (standing centre) while Joanne goes over a script and Carmel sketches. Joan acts under the professional name of Joan Shannon.
