Miss Ann Harding, the film actress, opened the Scottish textil show at British Industries House, Oxford Street. One of the features of the display is the weaving of tartan by Mr William Meikle to meet the Coronation demand.
It is estimated that at least ? 2, 000 worth of kilts will be worn at the Westminster Abbey ceremony.
