The Great Western Society has staged an Open Day at Taplow Station Goods Yard near Maidenhead, Berks. The main attraction was the Pendennis Castle engine, painted in the livery of the old Great Western, and carrying the Bristolian name board. The Castle Class engines used to haul the Bristolian the 118 miles between Paddington and Bristol in a time of 105 minutes.
